Freedom beat Paints in 14 innings
Watson RBI seals the win for Florence
The Florence Freedom beat the Chillicothe Paints tonight, 4-3 in 14 innings. Center fielder Reggie Watson finished the marathon game by driving in catcher Eddie Gonzalez with a bases-loaded infield single in the bottom of the 14th. Right-hander Chris Webb, the last of eight pitchers used by Florence, worked a scoreless top of the 14th to earn the win and run his record to 2-0. Webb escaped a one-out, bases loaded jam to keep the game tied at 3-3 heading to the last of the 14th. Rookie left fielder Ryan Basham blasted a three-run homer in the first inning, the first of his professional career, to provide all the Freedom runs until the deciding 14th inning rally. The Freedom face the Paints again tomorrow night for the final game of the series with the first pitch at 6:05pm.
