Freedom Fall to Miners in 14 innings
Winning Run Scores on Wild Pitch
It took five hours and 17 minutes to determine a winner Sunday afternoon before Southern Illinois claimed a 10-9 win over the visiting Florence Freedom in the bottom of the 14th inning at Rent One Park. The winning run scored on a wild pitch by Florence rookie right-hander Ryan Morrison with the bases loaded and two outs. Florence (24-25)opens a 3-game series at Evansville at 8:05 pm EDT Monday. The host Miners (25-24) won the series with the Freedom, two games to one to even the overall season series between the two teams at three wins apiece.
