Florence hammer Midwest, win 11-1
Florence wins their second consecutive series behind strong pitching and good hitting
The Florence Freedom took the series finale against the Midwest Sliders, blowing out Midwest 11-1. Florence received a good pitching performance from Brent Lotito and the offense came alive as the Freedom won their second consecutive game. Brent Lotito was outstanding for the Freedom in his second start. Lotito threw a complete game and came within one batter of throwing a five hit shutout. Lotito went the distance, giving up six hits and striking out five batters. The Freedom bats came alive in the bottom of the third inning as the offense put up seven runs in the inning on way to an 11-1 victory. Angel Molina led the way; Molina hit two homers and drove in three runs. Ryan Basham also hit a homer, his 7th of the season. Florence improved their record to 32-28, which is second in the Eastern Division of the Frontier League. The Freedom go on the road for the next three games against a tough Kalamazoo team. Kalamazoo has the best record in the Frontier League and the Kings are currently six games ahead of the Freedom.
