What:  An eight week program divided into four-two week segments.  Each segment represents a base on the baseball diamond.  When a student completes a segment, they will advance to the next base.  The goal is to “hit a homerun”.

Xavier University - College of Social Sciences, Health & Education

How: Your child needs to read a minimum of one book every two weeks.  Every four books read within the entire eight week period will result in a “home run”.  (Maximum of 7 “home runs” allowed)

Record Progress: Each day your child has completed his/her reading assignment, record their accomplishment under the respective week on the parent/guardian verification bookmark/form.

Bring To School:    After each two week segment a parent/guardian signature is needed on the respective bases’ verification slip to indicate completion.  Please have your child return it to the teacher.

Rewards:

Participating students can earn up to seven vouchers.  After “hitting a home run” he/she will receive a ticket voucher that is good for a reserved ticket on any Wednesday game (excluding opening day).  All ticket voucher holders have the opportunity to upgrade to a seat during any of the above dates at an additional cost.  The ticket voucher will act as an $8 credit to any other seat in the ballpark.  If you do not wish to upgrade, you can use the ticket voucher to enter the ballpark to avoid the ticket line at the box office.

*Vouchers are only good for the student who earned them.
