Dustin Koca   17 | Outfielder

Dustin Koca enters into his first full season with the Freedom after joining the team by way of the Evansville Otters who released him on July 29, 2009. Koca will be used as both an outfielder and a designated hitter in a Freedom uniform.

2009... Koca played in 23 games for the Freedom and finished the season batting .185 with 2 HR and 9 RBI. He was walked 17 times and had a stolen base.

With Evansville, Koca played in 55 games as a position player and even made a relief pitching appearance. Koca hit .275 with 7 home runs and 29 RBI's as the Otters' right fielder. Koca pitched an inning against Southern Illinois on May 22, holding the Miners scoreless, allowing 1 hit, and striking out a batter.

Career... Florence marks the 2nd Frontier League team that Koca has played for. Koca played for Butler County Community College, Coastal Carolina, and at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. As a senior at UNO, Koca was a First Team All-American and led all of Division 2 with 60 walks and hit .365. On the mound his senior year, Koca was 5-2 with a 4.61 ERA.
