FREEDOM BECOME FIRST ALLERGY FRIENDLY BALLPARK
A new partnership with Enjoy Life Foods gives fans more freedom to enjoy each game…
(Florence, KY) – Many ballparks and teams have included “Peanut Free Night” as a one-night promotion, but in 2014 the Florence Freedom are taking peanut shells off the entire menu every night. The Freedom are also serving a new line of allergy-friendly products in their concession stands.
The Freedom, in partnership with Enjoy Life Foods, will transform UC Health Stadium into an allergy-friendly ballpark that promotes awareness and offers products to families who otherwise would have heightened concern when attending a game.
“Due to the rising number of food allergies in our country today, we have decided to take a proactive approach in making our ballpark an entertainment option for all families, including those with food allergies,” Freedom Assistant General Manager of Marketing & Promotions Sarah H. Eichenberger said. “The aim of this initiative is to reduce the food allergens in our ballpark while raising awareness and offering allergy-friendly alternatives.”
In addition to taking peanut shells off the menu entirely, the Freedom will work closely with Enjoy Life Foods on creating graphic menu boards to educate fans on which products sold in the concession stands are allergy-friendly.
“At Enjoy Life Foods, we focus on creating great-tasting products that allow all families to eat freely no matter where they might be,” Enjoy Life Foods Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Joel Warady said. “While we have supported Peanut-Free nights at many professional sports arenas throughout the country, we were so impressed with the Florence Freedom initiative of “No Peanuts, All Season” that we felt compelled to sign-on as a major sponsor of the program. This will allow all families in the Greater Cincinnati area to enjoy life this summer.”
An assortment of allergy-friendly Enjoy Life products will be found at each concession bay on the first and third base side, making families who live with food allergies more comfortable in their ballpark experience. Fans can get a sneak peak at some of the allergy-friendly Enjoy Life products coming to the ballpark this summer by visiting EnjoyLifeFoods.com.
“Because of our commitment to the community, we strive to create the best possible environment for all our fans,” Freedom General Manager Josh Anderson said. “With this initiative, we’re taking a huge step in making our ballpark more accessible to families with allergies.”
